Widely regarded as one of the best settings for racing found anywhere, Santa Anita Park is the known as the "Great Race Place". It first opened for thoroughbred horse racing in 1934. It is situated on 305 acres of land approximately 14 miles northeast of Los Angeles in California. Santa Anita Park hosts the Breeders Cup for the second time in consecutive years and it's the fifth time the race track has played host in Breeders Cup history.

In addition to The Santa Anita Meet, which opens on December 26 each year and runs until mid-April, Santa Anita also plays host to The Oak Tree Meet for approximately six weeks each Autumn.
Known for its art-deco style grandstand and view of the beautiful San Gabriel Mountains, Santa Anita racecourse features a one-mile oval dirt track and a 7/8-mile turf course.
